At issue is the outmoded taxation system governing commercial aviation in the Caribbean,\u201d he said. \u201cThis system acts as a veritable economic handbrake, preventing expanded intra-regional connectivity and the subsequent boost to GDP from creating new multi-destination leisure and business travel options,\u201d he continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sunrise Airways, headquartered in <\/span><b>Port-au-Prince, Haiti<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, operates regular <\/span><b>passenger and charter flights<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> throughout the Caribbean, and advocates for better connections within the region for the benefit of both leisure and business travelers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bayard is encouraged by the dialogue among trade groups, Caribbean government officials, and industry partners, such as the <\/span><b>Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>Latin American and Caribbean Air Transportation Association (ALTA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and remains optimistic that significant changes can be made, \u201cresulting in more flights better connecting more of our region in line with our <\/span><b>\u2018One Caribbean\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">concept.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With <\/span><b>180 aviation professionals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a diverse fleet of aircraft, Sunrise Airways operates regularly scheduled passenger service and charter flights and is well-positioned to contribute to the region\u2019s growth.
