{"id":13126,"date":"2023-01-17T10:53:14","date_gmt":"2023-01-17T10:53:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/qik.ety.mybluehost.me\/?p=13126"},"modified":"2023-01-17T10:53:14","modified_gmt":"2023-01-17T10:53:14","slug":"data-experts-competition-a-comin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/caribbeantourismauthority.com\/staging\/1605\/data-experts-competition-a-comin\/","title":{"rendered":"Data experts: Competition a-comin\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the <\/span><b>Caribbean tourism industry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> revels in the recent gains from the <\/span><b>U.S. travel market<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, stakeholders are being warned that competition is on the horizon and much planning is necessary to sustain the momentum the region has been enjoying.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><b>ForwardKeys<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, following strong U.S. arrivals performance over the past couple of years, \u201cCaribbean destinations need to rethink their U.S. strategy now that they are facing tougher competition.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe U.S. as an outbound source market is currently the world\u2019s travel recovery powerhouse, with a high number of travelers keen to explore and spend their hard-earned cash on new experiences,\u201d note travel data experts at the company, while cautioning that \u201cdestinations that have depended on this audience in the past now face more <\/span><b>global competition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and cannot rely on a generic approach.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company, which has established itself as the industry reference for global travel trends and insights, reports that Caribbean hotspots such as <\/span><b>Canc\u00fan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><b> Punta Cana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><b> Montego Bay<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>San Jos\u00e9 del Cabo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have managed to retain the success they achieved in 2021 and continue to increase their international arrivals compared with the 2019 benchmark year \u2013 even with tough competition from European destinations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is not just Mexico and the Caribbean which are thriving; U.S. travelers have a strong appetite for global travel, including taking long-haul flights to get to their destination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the travel intelligence specialist, <\/span><b>Europe is fast approaching full recovery<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, largely thanks to the U.S. lifting its ban on incoming European travelers in November 2021, which normalized bilateral traveler flows.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, favorable U.S. dollar\u2013Euro conversion rates are driving <\/span><b>demand for travel to Europe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. ForwardKeys opines that exchange rates have become key to the decision-making process as travelers consider the cost of airfares, accommodations and activities as well as concerns around inflation and recession.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Turkey, Greece, Portugal <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Spain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have scored big among travelers this past summer, while ForwardKeys data shows an increasing interest among U.S. travelers in visiting locales such as <\/span><b>Switzerland<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><b> Ireland<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,and <\/span><b>Iceland<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
