During the 2020 Caribbean Travel Marketplace in Nassau, Bahamas, Caribbean hospitality leaders Josef Forstmayr of Jamaica and Karolin Troubetzkoy of St. Lucia were photographed following a meeting involving regional tourism stakeholders at Sandals Royal Bahamian.
The gathering took place just weeks before the global tourism industry would be disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, making it one of the final major in-person regional tourism meetings before international travel came to a halt.
Forstmayr, Managing Director of Round Hill Hotel & Villas, is widely respected for his longstanding contributions to Caribbean tourism and hotel development. A former President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), he has played a significant role in promoting Jamaica’s tourism industry and strengthening regional collaboration across the hospitality sector.
Karolin Troubetzkoy, Owner and Executive Director of Marketing and Operations at Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain, is widely recognized for her leadership in sustainable tourism and environmental stewardship. A former President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), she has long been a leading advocate for responsible tourism development throughout the Caribbean and currently serves as Chairman of the CHTA Education Foundation.
Both leaders continue to shape conversations around regional tourism growth, sustainability and industry resilience, while mentoring future generations of Caribbean hospitality professionals.
The photograph serves as a reminder of the strong relationships and collaborative spirit that continue to drive Caribbean tourism forward.
