The St. Maarten Tourism Bureau has launched the inaugural issue of Salt & Soul Magazine, a new culture, heritage and lifestyle publication celebrating the people, creativity and experiences of The Friendly Island. Designed to serve both residents and visitors, the magazine offers locals a cultural archive of their island while providing travelers with an authentic guide to its stories, traditions and experiences.
Released under the theme “Salt & Soul: A Celebration of St. Maarten,” the first issue features a range of in-depth stories, including a conversation with the award-winning Director of Tourism May-Ling Chun; an exploration of the island’s prehistory with archaeologist Dr. Jay B. Haviser; and a discussion on living culture with Clara Reyes, the island’s retiring director of culture. The issue also highlights local art, creative talent and the cultural influences that shape the destination’s unique identity.
Print copies of the magazine will be available at hotels, tourist information centers, school libraries and cultural institutions across the island. A digital edition can be accessed at www.saltandsoulmagazine.sx.
