The Virgin Islands Port Authority Board of Governors has named Ava Penn as the authority’s next executive director following a comprehensive and competitive recruitment and selection process.
Penn succeeds Carlton Dowe, who retired from the position. As executive director, she will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for VIPA’s operations, capital programs and long-term initiatives.
The board said it is confident Penn’s leadership, vision and commitment to public service will advance VIPA’s mission of maintaining safe, efficient and reliable air and seaport facilities while supporting economic growth and development in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
