BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (May 5, 2026) — Barbados has secured its second new nonstop service from Canada in just three weeks, with Air Transat announcing a fresh seasonal route from Montreal.
The new service will launch on December 13, 2026, operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays using an Airbus A321 LR aircraft with 199 seats.
The addition strengthens air connectivity from Quebec and underscores Barbados’ ongoing strategy to expand airlift through targeted airline partnerships and data-driven route development.
“We are very pleased to welcome this new service from Air Transat, which reflects the continued demand for Barbados within the Quebec market,” said Ian Gooding-Edghill, Barbados’ Minister of Tourism and International Transport.
“Increasing airlift and ensuring consistent, reliable access to the island remains a key priority. This new route is a direct reflection of our strategic focus on markets that deliver strong and sustainable growth.”
The Air Transat service follows the recent announcement of a new weekly Air Canada nonstop from Halifax. Both flights, launching in December, are expected to boost Barbados’ winter 2026–27 tourism season.
Barbados welcomed 90,209 Canadian stayover visitors in 2025, recording a 3.5% increase over the previous year.
