Barbados Targets Africa and Middle East Travelers With New Nairobi Tourism Office

Share

As Caribbean destinations seek to diversify beyond traditional source markets, Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) has established a regional office in Nairobi, Kenya, positioning the island to capitalize on growth opportunities in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).

The new branch, based at the Barbados High Commission, will oversee market development, trade engagement and media partnerships across the region.

“We look forward to working closely with the travel trade community, along with our media partners, to further build our brand presence and, of course, increase visitation to the beautiful island of Barbados,” said Kyle Gittens, director with responsibility for the MEA region.

The MEA region is viewed as a rapidly emerging source market, and BTMI’s presence in Nairobi is expected to strengthen ties with African travelers as well as visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, supporting Barbados’ broader market diversification strategy.
