SALT LAKE CITY (May 7) — Breeze Airways announced new nonstop service to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands from Tampa, Fla., as part of a broader expansion that also adds routes from Atlantic City, N.J.
“In 2021, Breeze took flight with a handful of routes and big plans to deliver affordable, elevated service between underserved cities,” said David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways. “Launching service to the U.S. Virgin Islands on the cusp of our five-year anniversary speaks to how far Breeze has come in that time. Whether it’s a new destination like St. Thomas or making sure travelers in Atlantic City have affordable options, we’re continuing to grow where the demand is — and we’re just getting started.
The announcement also includes expanded service from Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) to several domestic markets. Breeze celebrated its first flight from ACY this week.
Tampa-St. Thomas service begins Dec. 16 with flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Fares start at $149 one way.
This new St. Thomas flight is the first-ever nonstop between Tampa International Airport (TPA) and St. Thomas (STT), giving Florida travelers easier access to the U.S. Virgin Islands without connections in hubs like Atlanta or Miami. The route aligns with growing demand for Caribbean leisure travel from the Southeast.
Founded by aviation entrepreneur Neeleman, Breeze launched in May 2021. It provides affordable nonstop service to secondary markets using its flagship fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft
