ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA (May 15, 2026) — Barbados has been selected to host the 45th edition of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA)’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace (CTM) in May 2027.

Ian Gooding-Edghill, Barbados’ Minister of Tourism and International Transport and Chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), made the announcement yesterday during the closing ceremony of the 44th edition in Antigua and Barbuda.

“Caribbean Travel Marketplace remains the region’s premier tourism business event bringing together international tour operators, wholesalers, airlines, hospitality leaders and key decision makers from around the world,” said Minister Gooding-Edghill. “Our selection is a powerful vote of confidence in Barbados, our tourism product, our people, infrastructure and our vision for the future of Caribbean tourism.”

He added: “In 2027, we will welcome the world to experience first-hand, not only the warmth of our hospitality but also the depth of our culture, strength of our partnerships and the bold future we are building together in tourism.”

Barbados previously hosted CTM in 2023.

The Minister continued: “Caribbean Travel Marketplace will create economic opportunities across our tourism ecosystem, elevate our global visibility, and provide an unmatched platform to showcase the very best of Barbados.” Minister Gooding-Edghill added, “In 2027, destination Barbados will not simply host the Caribbean, but we will work collaboratively with the CHTA to deliver a marketplace that will create new opportunities for growth and reposition the region to leverage new and existing relationships with buyers and key partners from traditional and emerging source markets.”

Minister Gooding-Edghill also commended Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment, Charles “Max” Fernandez, and the event organisers for successfully hosting the 43rd and 44th editions of the event.
