The much-anticipated Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month returns this May, delivering a month-long celebration of the destination’s rich foodways, creative talent and cultural heritage.
The annual culinary series, organized by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, was first launched in 2023 and has quickly become a marquee attraction for residents, visitors and food lovers alike.
Throughout the month, local restaurants will take center stage, particularly during Restaurant Week which spans two weeks and invites diners to enjoy specially curated prix fixe menus at participating restaurants across the island.
Signature events include FAB (Food, Art and Beverage) Fest, an immersive showcase of Antigua and Barbuda’s culinary traditions, and the Caribbean Food Forum, a regional food and hospitality symposium that brings together leaders from the hospitality, agriculture and public service sectors.
Also returning by popular demand is the “Eat Like a Local” experience which spotlights locally owned cookshops and casual eateries. The campaign encourages participants to sample beloved local favorites such as goat water, ducana and saltfish as well as national dishes including pepperpot and fungee.
The month-long celebration will further spotlight Antiguan and Barbudan chefs alongside a curated lineup of Caribbean celebrity and guest chefs from the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. Among those expected to participate are James Beard Award-winning chef and restaurateur Nina Compton of Saint Lucia, and Brigette Joseph from Trinidad and Tobago.
