NEW YORK (May 18, 2026) — The Turks and Caicos Islands kicked off a high-level U.S. tourism and investment roadshow Monday, marking the return of a key promotional initiative after a decade-long absence and highlighting the destination’s reliance on American travelers.
The Premier’s United States Tourism and Investment Roadshow began in New York today and continues with stops in Dallas on May 19, Denver on May 20 and Chicago on May 21. Led by Premier Charles Washington Misick, the effort aims to strengthen ties with travel advisors, tour operators, airlines, media, investors and other industry stakeholders.
The roadshow underscores the power of public-private sector collaboration in one of the Caribbean’s premier luxury destinations, officials said. It is supported by the Office of the Premier, the Ministry of Tourism, Experience Turks & Caicos, Invest Turks and Caicos and a coalition of leading properties including Wymara Resort & Villas, Grace Bay Club Resorts, The Shore Club, The Palms Turks and Caicos, Ambergris Cay, Beaches Turks and Caicos, Turks and Caicos Collection, The Strand, Salterra Resort & Spa, and Grace Bay Car Rentals.
The Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA) is playing a central role. “Turks and Caicos has earned its reputation as one of the world’s leading luxury destinations through years of strategic investment, strong partnerships and a consistently elevated visitor experience,” TCHTA CEO Stacy Cox said. “This Roadshow creates an important platform for us to engage directly with the individuals and organizations that influence travel, business, and investment decisions, while continuing to strengthen the international presence of Brand TCI.”
TCHTA Marketing Chair and hotelier Karen Whitt said the timing is critical amid rising competition: “In today’s competitive environment, we cannot afford to become passive within the marketplace. Maintaining strong industry relationships and consistent engagement within our major source markets is critically important to sustaining the Turks and Caicos Islands’ position within the luxury travel sector.”
The positive momentum is already evident. The Turks and Caicos Islands recorded a five percent increase in stayover arrivals for the first quarter of 2026, welcoming 203,587 visitors — an increase of 10,557 arrivals over the same period in 2025. The strong start to the year builds on a solid recovery, as the destination posted a nearly flat performance in 2025 with an estimated 640,748 stayover visitors, while cruise passenger visits rose 5.5 percent to 1.3 million.
The roadshow includes meetings, networking events, presentations and discussions designed to boost visitation, investment and overall visibility for the British Overseas Territory, which has long positioned itself as a top-tier luxury escape known for its stellar beaches, high-end resorts and upscale appeal.
