Alex Gumbs, Chief Executive Officer of Port St. Maarten, will headline a critical public town hall hosted by The Association for Cruise Tourism (ACT) in the Cayman Islands on Friday, April 25, at the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort.
With the April 30 cruise berthing referendum fast approaching, Gumbs will share firsthand insights into how cruise pier infrastructure has supported economic growth and marine protection in his destination, offering a regional perspective on what’s at stake for Cayman. The event begins with a 6 p.m. meet-and-greet, followed by the town hall at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
ACT is encouraging participation from all sectors of the community – taxi drivers, tour operators, shop owners, hospitality workers, and even those opposed to cruise berthing – in what it describes as a vital conversation about the future of cruise tourism in the Cayman Islands.
