FORT WORTH, Texas (June 18, 2026) — American Airlines has announced new service to Maracaibo, Venezuela, and Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, further expanding its Miami hub network across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Fort Worth, Texas-based carrier will launch daily nonstop service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Maracaibo (MAR) on July 14, becoming the only airline offering nonstop flights from the U.S. to the Venezuelan city. American will also resume service to Haiti with daily flights between Miami and Cap-Haïtien (CAP) beginning Nov. 1.

The Miami-Maracaibo route will be operated with Embraer 175 aircraft, complementing American’s twice-daily service between Miami and Caracas. Flights to Cap-Haïtien will be operated with Boeing 737 aircraft.

“American connects the U.S. with Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America (MCLA) better than any other airline,” said Chief Commercial Officer Nat Pieper. “We are committed to serving the needs of travelers by offering the most flights to the most destinations in the region of any U.S. carrier.”

With these additions, American will serve 100 destinations across MCLA. The carrier’s winter network from Miami is nearly 50% larger than that of its closest U.S. competitor. American offers service from Miami to destinations including Anguilla, Bimini in the Bahamas, Ocho Rios in Jamaica, South Caicos in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and Montevideo, Uruguay.

For the winter season, American is also increasing service on several key routes from Miami:
• Two daily flights to Rio de Janeiro (GIG)
• Up to eight daily flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU)
• Up to four daily flights to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (STT)
• Two daily flights to Antigua (ANU) beginning Oct. 5
• Up to six daily flights to Tortola, British Virgin Islands (EIS)
• Three daily flights to Exuma, Bahamas (GGT), from Dec. 17, 2026, through April 5, 2027
• Two daily flights to St. Kitts (SKB) from Dec. 17, 2026, through April 5, 2027

American also plans additional investments at Miami International Airport, including a new Flagship Lounge and a reimagined Concourse D.
