Remember The Times: Cardigan Connor & Chantelle Richardson at CHTA Marketplace 2019

Share

At the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s (CHTA) Marketplace in Montego Bay, Jamaica, in January 2019, two proud representatives of Anguilla shared the destination’s story with regional and international media. Then-Parliamentary Secretary of Tourism Cardigan Connor and Anguilla Tourist Board Coordinator for International Markets Chantelle Richardson highlighted the island’s blend of understated luxury, authenticity and warm Caribbean hospitality.

What stood out then still resonates today — their deep commitment to Anguilla and its tourism industry.

Since that time, Cardigan Connor has gone on to serve as Anguilla’s Minister of Health, Sports and Tourism. Before entering public service, he built an outstanding cricket career, taking more than 1,000 wickets and playing alongside West Indies great Malcolm Marshall at Hampshire. Today, he continues to bring teamwork, discipline and leadership to the development of Anguilla’s tourism sector, with strong support for sports tourism, wellness initiatives and youth development.

Alongside that progress has been Chantelle Richardson, now Deputy Director of Tourism for the Anguilla Tourist Board. Known for her institutional knowledge and strategic insight, Richardson continues to play an important role in promoting Anguilla as a premier destination for travelers seeking tranquility, authenticity and high-quality experiences.

Together with Director of Tourism Jameel Rochester, they represent a leadership team focused on elevating Anguilla’s global profile while preserving the character, culture and warmth that continue to distinguish the island.

They reflect the strength and continuity of Caribbean tourism leadership — rooted in service, national and regional pride, and a shared commitment to preserving the unique character of their island home.
